You may be surprised by how many people rely on social media as their go-to outlet for news. Your organization should have an active presence on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. We also recommend you post related industry news and not just your organization’s “news.” For example, while your members may be thrilled to learn what’s going on inside your organization, establishing a relationship where your members visit your Facebook page for industry related news is key.
We can’t sleep without our phones being close by and we certainly can’t imagine our lives without cell phones. Today more than half of all Americans use their cell phones to send or receive email or go online. Making sure your emails and website are mobile-friendly is crucial for our phone-crazed society.
It should come as no surprise; your election is a perfect opportunity to reconnect with your members. If you haven’t already transitioned to online voting, you may want to consider adding online voting as an option for your next election. Your members have a fast-paced lifestyle and you need to supply them with a user-friendly, easily accessible, and secure method by which they can vote.
