Additionally, PSEA was interested in introducing members to the option of online voting but they weren’t quite ready to jump to a 100% online election.
Hybrid Election – all members received a paper ballot with the option to vote online.
They have since successfully transitioned to Composite elections where we send paper ballots to members without email addresses and email online ballots to every member with an email address on file.

Online voting was well received with over 45% of all members electing to vote online. 55% of teachers chose the electronic option. Don’t underestimate retired members when considering online voting as nearly 1/3 of all retired voters cast their ballots online in the very first year.
With nearly half of all voters making the choice to vote online in the first year, PSEA is well prepared to continue their innovative election transition away from ever increasing
costs of printing and postage.
